`state` events carry the full job payload on every status change; `:hb` comments keep the socket warm; the stream closes on `done`/`error` or after ~4.5 minutes (reconnect to resume). Because `EventSource` can't set headers, `?access_token=` (MCP or api token) is accepted on this path only.
